Learning Log 4

Chapter 4 in This is Disciplinary Literacy talks about inquiry within each of the disciplines. The book provides what inquiry what might look like across each discipline. For starters, ELA might look like students reading from multiple perspectives to understand the motivation behind them, Mathematics might look like questioning and investigating new patters and formulas. Then, Social Studies looks like broad questions that get the students thinking such as: Is torture ever justified? Lastly, science inquiry might consist of making observations, gathering evidence, etc. Basically all of the steps in the Scientific Method.
