Learning Log 10

Chapter 5

Learning about the power of collaboration has really opened a new scope for me. Collaborative learning is where students work together in groups, partner and they work together to complete the end goal. “This approach involves learning how to use the language of the disciplines.” (149) There are many ways collaborative learning can be seen in the different subjects. For example in collaboration in science, students can be working together to conduct an experiment and each student takes various roles to complete the procedure. Another example you can see collaboration in science is students providing feedback to one another. Collaboration in math can be students having discussions and collaborations on ways a problem can be solved, working in groups to explain why, how can the group create a visual to represent the word problem.
